When i started my online business journey some years ago, i spent quite some money on graphic designs for my business. By virtue of the fact that always been in the creative industry, i thought they where designs i could have  attempted myself.  but i was just scared of Adobe Photoshop, one of the best professional  software out there for graphic designs.

I thought Photoshop was the only way. until Canva came my way through a search i carried out looking for a click, drag and drop way to design a logo. Discovering Canva made my life so easy.

Even for the big operations, building a business online comes with a lot of responsibilities.

Unfortunately, there’s never really enough resources to take care of necessities that will help establish your brand. Everyone, including me always seem to be on a shoestring budget.

Some times, to hire a graphic artist to create a logo and other basic designs for that website or business idea, can be a major challenge. Especially for some of us who don’t know or understand how Photoshop works.

Then again, sometimes it can be difficult to explain and achieve your desired design with another person. unless you have a big budget for a sound professional graphic artist.

Canva saved the day. How to create logos and other graphics has gained simplified and none techie solution.

It is now very easy to get creative for free and not pay a dime to anyone.

However, using the platform has also opened my eyes to its limitations in design. Trust me, this will push you to start learning how to use Photoshop if you don’t already use that beast.

Those limitations in Cava motivated me and removed my fear for Photoshop.

But for quick fixes and easy design solutions, Canva offers a smooth and easy sail. Once I realized this, I thought it would be nice to share this experience, hence the video. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Feel free to share your comments and let me know what other options you find easier to use than Canva and I’ll be more than happy to check it out. In the main time, I am having fun exploring Photoshop.

Would You rather hire someone to do your design or do it yourself?

Did this tutorial help you in anyway?

Please, leave your thoughts in the comments.

Thank god for Canva, designing your logo is so much easier now and the best part is you can use Canva on your phone as well. I love that it is free but there are some fonts or themes that you can purchase which is up to you but I love creating my own logo from scratch and use my own drawing from another app and put in in Canva. It is no longer spending money to get a good logo anymore 🙂 I love that Canva gives you the templates on which logo you want to create. I actually created YouTube Thumbnail with Canva. Love the app, easy to use and it’s free with paid option. In my opinion, logo should be clean, neat and simple. Just checked out your youtube, will finish it later today when I get home, there might be some tips that I can learn from you 🙂

Hey Nuttanee, Couldn’t agree with you less. canva is the easiest to use out there. i like that they now have the app for phones and this allows me to create graphics for social media posts on the go.

i know that Cava is limited in some aspects when or if compared to the likes of Photoshop. but here’s what that did for me, it’s limitations have actually plunged me into learning Photoshop at all cost.

Yes, part of my youtube channel art was created in Canva too. But thanks for stopping by.

      Let hookup on youtube.

That looked really easy creating that logo I must say, I have tried endlessly to create one nice one for my site but at the end of the day what I create doesn’t quite fit what I have in mind and at some point I gave up.

I have always found adobe photoshop too complicated and that is why I stay away from it and any tutorial on it will be great!

I do use Canva occassionally but yet to fully explore all it’s  feature, but thanks to this article, I can’t wait to create my dream logo.

Your video presented many of the features of Canva. It was very helpful for me since I am trying to design a logo for branding of my websites. I will need to play with and try the features you presented.I am concerned that there is too much to learn to be proficient, but I will try.You recommend only using one or two colors for the logo. Is that your personal choice or are there studies that show that logos are best remembered if they are simple.I am not an artist ,nor a graphics designer, so I worry that my choice of colors may not be the colors that the visitors to my website would like or remember. Are there any color groups that are the most popular and that I should use? I will subscribe to your future videos.Thank You.

Thank you so much Carlos for kind words, i am glad you got some help from the tutorial.

      1. Building your website is a long term project that would need to be done in phases because you don’t want it to overwhelm you. Do things a bit at a time. Especially if you are on a budget.

      2. Using one or two color is not a rule. It’s just a personal preference just to  keep it simple and nice. There’s really no hard and fast rule about it. at the end of the day, its all about choice. However, you want it tastefully done so that the colors are not all over the place.

      3. what i will typically do is, pick colors from my brand colors. i have just 3 i play with. Gray, blue and orange. whatever i do on my website remains within this color scheme. But don’t make it that much of a big deal.

Have you designed your logo yet? let me know what you need. i can help you design it you want.

but thanks for stopping by. You will make it.

I have just started using Canva so I have much to learn and your tutorial is a really good introduction. How to change colors and shapes is easier than I thought it would be and it’s clear that exploring Canva and just practicing the various elements will be time well spent. Were all the examples that you posted at the beginning of the video created with the free elements or have you upgraded to Canva for Work? Thank you!

    1. admin

Hello Cheryl, thanks for your comment.

To answer your question, i upgrade from time to time if i have a need to. otherwise, i have more than enough on the free side of things. how ever, saving your logo in png format (transparent background) cannot be achieved on canva without Canva for work. but here’s a little strick… make sure the background color of your logo design is the same as where you are using the logo.

But send me a message if you need any help. i am willing to help.

i also releasse tutorials like this on my youtube channel from time to time just to help people navigate.

i’ll be expecting to hear from you.
